BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
Mountain Gorilla Sanctuary

Overview

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in southwestern Uganda, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most biologically diverse rainforests. Famous for its dense jungle and mist-covered hills, Bwindi is home to nearly half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas. The park also hosts more than 120 mammal species, over 350 bird species, and a rich cultural heritage from the Batwa people.

Bwindi offers visitors an unforgettable blend of wildlife encounters, deep rainforest adventures, and vibrant local traditions.

Best Time to Visit Bwindi

Bwindi can be visited year-round, but the best time is during the dry seasons:
   •    June to August
   •    December to February

During these months, trails are less slippery and trekking conditions are more comfortable. However, gorilla trekking is available in all seasons.
