OVERVIEW

Sample Highlights of 7 days Primates Rwanda Safari Itinerary at a Glance

​

DAY 1 – THE RETREAT / Kigali – Bed and Breakfast – arrival and transfer to The Retreat Hotel for an overnight. Our tour guide will meet you at the airport upon arrival and transfer you to The Retreat, check in your room and dinner, overnight stay.

​

DAY 2 – One&Only Nyungwe House / Nyungwe Forest National Park – Fully Inclusive – After breakfast, you will be driven to Nyungwe National park and to the One and Only Lodge. After settling in and lunch you will explore the rain forests of Nyungwe Forest National Park or go on a tour of the Gisakura Tea Estate or trek the unique primate like Angola monkeys, Red tailed monkeys, velvet monkeys, grey checked mangabeys, golden monkeys among others which you will be able to stop on your way.in the company of well trained and versed rangers who will help you spot as well answer all your concerns.

DAY 3 – One&Only Nyungwe House / Nyungwe Forest National Park – Fully Inclusive – This morning you will head out early to trek the chimpanzee and the other 12 primate species in the area, including the colobus monkey or do the canopy walk way or even the zipline.

​

DAY 4 – THE BISHOP HOUSE / Volcanoes National Park – Fully Inclusive – Today you will be driven to THE BISHOP HOUSE  in the Volcanoes National Park where you will be staying for the next 3 nights. And it will be approximately 6 hours and having a stop along the way for lunch.

​

DAY 5 – THE BISHOP HOUSE / Volcanoes National Park – Fully Inclusive – After an early breakfast you will be taken to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters where you will receive your briefing and prepare for your gorilla trek. Tracking mountain gorillas through the dense African forests is a magical experience. Typically, tracking can take from 3 to 8 hours round trip.

DAY 6 – THE  BISHOP HOUSE / Volcanoes National Park – Fully Inclusive – Today again after your breakfast you will get ready for the Golden monkey trekking. You will be picked up again by your driver guide to the park head office for the paper work and briefing of the activity before we go for it. 

​

DAY 7 – THE BISHOP HOUSE / Volcanoes National Park – Breakfast – This morning, you will be driven about 3 hours back to Kigali airport in time to check-in for your onward connection or travelling back home.

PRICING:

  • This itinerary is priced per person (based on travel in June 2025), which averages out  per day of service.

 

  • Included at THE RETREAT : accommodation, breakfast and 1x welcome massage per guest (30mins massage and subject to availability) and onsite 30 mins cultural activities (Cocktail making, Local drumming & dance class, banana wine demo, cooking class - to be booked in advance).

 

  • ​

  • Included at O&O NYUNGWE HOUSE: accommodation, all meals, laundry, room service, drinks (house wines, non-premium spirits, beers & soft drinks).

Also included: 1x Chimp trekking permit per person and 1x gorilla trekking permit per person, all relevant road transfers, all relevant park fees, conservation and camping levies, emergency medical evacuation insurance (to the nearest reputable hospital)

 

  • Included at THE BISHOP HOUSE: accommodation, all meals, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with meals and two activities per person per day.
