Sample Highlights of 7 days Primates Rwanda Safari Itinerary at a Glance

DAY 1 – THE RETREAT / Kigali – Bed and Breakfast – arrival and transfer to The Retreat Hotel for an overnight. Our tour guide will meet you at the airport upon arrival and transfer you to The Retreat, check in your room and dinner, overnight stay.

DAY 2 - AMAKORO SONGA LODGE / Volcanoes National Park - Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park - Fully inclusive -
After an early morning breakfast the driver guide will transfer you for a short city tour and drive directly for 3 hours to AMAKORO SONGA LODGE for lunch and after you ill be driven to ELLEN THE GENEROUS OF DIANA FOSSEY GORILLA FUND for a quick visit and then back to lodge for an overnight.

DAY 3 – AMAKORO SONGA LODGE/ Volcanoes National Park – Fully Inclusive – After an early breakfast you will be taken to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters where you will receive your briefing and prepare for your gorilla trek. Tracking mountain gorillas through the dense African forests is a magical experience. Typically, tracking can take from 3 to 8 hours round trip.

DAY 4 – AMAKORO SONGA LODGE / Volcanoes National Park – Fully Inclusive – After an early breakfast you will be taken to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters where you will receive your briefing for our second Gorilla Trek. After our mountain gorillas through the dense African forests is a magical experience, our guide will drive you back to the lodge for refreshing and then have lunch afterward you drive back to Kigali to the airport as you connect to another destination or go back home.

PRICING:

This itinerary is priced per person (based on travel in June 2025), which averages out per day of service.

Included at THE RETREAT : accommodation, breakfast and 1x welcome massage per guest (30mins massage and subject to availability) and onsite 30 mins cultural activities (Cocktail making, Local drumming & dance class, banana wine demo, cooking class - to be booked in advance).

Included at AMAKORO SONGA LODGE: accommodation, all meals, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with meals and two activities per person per day.

Also included:

2x gorilla trekking permit per person, all relevant road transfers, all relevant park fees, conservation and camping levies, emergency medical evacuation insurance (to the nearest reputable hospital)
